Wolf Tooth Rear Axle for X-12

Our axle range just got two new additions, as we now offer axles compatible with the Syntace X-12 system. The main difference that sets these axles apart from our other axles is the conical washer, whereas our other axles use a flat washer. Any bike brand that uses the Syntace X-12 system can also use these new axles, including many models from Specialized, Cannondale, Intense, 3T, Canyon, and others.

When developing the rear axle, Wolf Tooth engineers knew they couldn’t get away with just another stock replacement part, even if it was made in Minnesota to aerospace standards. The Wolf Tooth rear axle uses a captive stainless steel conical washer under the head to reduce friction on the dropout face. This protects your expensive frame, transfers more of the tightening torque into clamping force for a stiffer interface, and prevents the axle from sticking or seizing when you want to remove it.

They’re also an excellent replacement option for lost or damaged stock axles. Always apply a small amount of grease to the washer and threads during installation.
Check out axle caps for extra protection and trainer caps for those days on the trainer.
