Réduction emissions

Reducing our environmental impact one order at a time.

The health of our planet is essential to the practice of our favorite sport: cycling. With the rise of online sales, we started questioning the environmental impact of this new retail reality.

To minimize the impact of our activities, we have decided to offset the CO2 emissions generated by shipping online sales, a rapidly growing segment.

To implement this program, we’re working with the organization Pachama. This organization uses the CO2 credits we purchase to accelerate reforestation, which helps reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

How do we calculate emissions from online orders?

To calculate CO2 emissions and the buyback cost, three elements are taken into account:

  1. Package weight
  2. Shipping distance
  3. Mode of transport (truck, plane, etc.)

Using these three factors, a CO2 emissions amount is calculated. The result is then automatically sent to Pachama for each order, and the CO2 credits are purchased a few seconds after your order is submitted. All this at no cost to you

Frequently asked questions

To what extent is the environmental impact actually offset?

Currently, CO2 offsetting only applies to emissions from shipping orders.

What project is the program currently funding?

The program is currently financing, with Pachama, the project “Jarí Para REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation”. This project is VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) certified and is monitored by Pachama using its tracking technology. The credits are used to protect existing forest, improve biomass through better forest management practices, and verify the project’s progress.
