INSURGENT SPHERICAL CONFIDENCE TO COMMIT The mandate of the all-new Insurgent™ Spherical from Giro is to deliver protection that meets the demands of our highest-performing riders – from Enduro World Series pros to Red Bull Rampage athletes. Our engineers maximized ventilation and cooling by creating an internal channeling system that links deep intake vents pulling in cool air with exhaust ports that push out hot air. Lightweight, hydrophilic, and soft to the touch, the padding set includes a brow pad that absorbs moisture and keeps sweat from running into your eyes. Each of the three helmet sizes comes with two sets of cheek pads (in two different thicknesses) to provide a secure, customized fit. Attached to the helmet with a strap-based snap system, the pads are easy to unclip and remove in the event of a crash. At 1040 grams for size M/L, the Insurgent Spherical is 200 grams lighter than the Disciple™ MIPS, despite adding top-tier features – most notably high-performance Spherical™ Technology. The Insurgent Spherical uses two layers of foam that work like a ball-and-socket to redirect energy during an impact. The outer EPS foam layer manages higher forces from high-speed impacts, while the inner, low-density EPP foam with rebound properties provides better protection in low-speed crashes and impacts. Other features include a flexible gasket along the lower edge of the chin bar. Currently patent-pending, this gasket is designed to minimize the role the helmet might play in certain impact scenarios that can cause collarbone injuries. Additional benefits: the tool-free visor bolts are easy to remove with an Allen key; the moto-inspired visor has threaded adjustment and a central bolt hole that can also serve as an integrated mount for an action camera.
