240 DEG Rear Hub
The patent-pending Ratchet DEG system was designed using a different approach than common high-engagement freehub systems in order to reduce the engagement angle and maximize reliability. The full, simultaneous engagement of the ratchet rings offers a larger contact surface than pawl hubs, providing a more even load distribution and therefore better reliability. Two enlarged 90-tooth ratchet rings deliver the smallest engagement angle ever offered in the DT Swiss range: 4º. On the trail, this translates into a different feel with each pedal stroke. The limited lag time allows for faster acceleration, for example when exiting a corner, as well as the ability to adjust pedal position more quickly, such as when clearing an obstacle on a technical climb.
