Exploring a bit of the province in search of new mountain bike destinations is one of life’s little pleasures. At the end of last season, Vélo Mont Saint-Georges (Vélo MSG) published a press release to showcase the work being done to develop mountain bike trails at the Saint-Georges Ski Center. Seeing the effort put into this project, we absolutely had to go check out what our friends in Beauce had cooked up!

Vélo MSG is a non-profit organization created in 2013 to manage the bike trails at the Saint-Georges ski center. The volunteers’ work is not only to build the trails, but also to make sure they are well marked to keep them as safe as possible. All these efforts have resulted in more than 15 kilometers of trails for all levels and riding styles.

Indeed, we have to highlight the excellent work of Vélo MSG for creating some trails that are more cross‑country‑oriented and others that are more downhill‑focused. In fact, the new generation of 140–160 mm‑travel bikes is probably the best choice for riding there, but you’ll definitely have a great time even on bikes with less travel.
Riding at the Saint-Georges Ski Center is worth the trip for several reasons. First, because the area was developed recently, the soil quality is exceptional! The berms and jumps are well built so you can ride them without overthinking it. Another observation: the trails and more technical features are also very clearly marked. These two aspects make for a ride that feels safe and lets you focus on just one thing—having fun!
In conclusion, if you’re looking to discover a new mountain‑biking destination, you’re likely to enjoy the mix of trails on offer as well as their build quality. Kudos to the volunteers who worked hard to build so many kilometres of quality trails!
